CHILEAN LEGATION.

The Chilean Minister for Foreign Affairs

informs me that the Training Ship of the Republican

Fleet "General Raquedano" is undertaking a voyage

for instruction, having on board the midshipmen who

have recently left our Naval School. In the course

of the voyage the ship will visit Hong Kong in Sep-

tember or October next and Adelaide and Sydney, in

Australia and Auckland, in New Zealand, in Novem-

ber or December of this year.

In informing Your Excellency of the above

I venture to observe that my Government would be

sincerely grateful to Your Excellency's Government

if you would kindly arrange that the officers and

midshipmen of the ship in question shall receive

from the authorities of the ports visited the facili-

ties which they may require on their voyage.
